I have an old lowe 170 and hate the 90's teal color scheme decal pinstriping. Would an eraser wheel hurt the white paint? I know people use them on cars but wasnt sure of the paint on the boat.

It would be easy to burn the paint. I used a hair dryer to soften up the glue backing of the decal and just peeled it right off of my boat. No paint damage and no worries.

Heat gun, hair dryer, are the way to get a decal off. Just go slow and use no more heat than needed. But realize it is very likely that the paint under the decal will not be faded like the rest of the boat and it will still show the area the sticker was removed from.
This is a 3M wheel I used. To get the stickers off. Worked great, and didn't even dull the clear coat. Reel easy.

I removed all the decals off my lowe. I used a heat gun at first, but, I found that it actually made it worse to remove. So, I ended up using nothing and just peeling it off.
WD 40 will remove any glue residue.
Eraser much quicker thats why im curious about it. I know the coventional ways of removing decals
I use the 3M eraser wheel in my shop almost daily on glass boats and aluminum painted boats. Keep the wheel moving and the RPMs on the low side and it'll eat through decals very easy.
