I am looking to get up there and do some fishing in the next month, i have a tourney coming up and really know nothing about the area. Last time I fished the Saint Johns was before I moved to Florida..... Needless to say we didn't fare very well.
If anyone wanted to show a fellow Florida bbc'er around that would be great! My boat or yours, open to suggestions.

The river is tough right now. You might be better of to go to Orange Lake or Lochloosa.

What tourney are you fishing and when is it?
You may have trouble getting info because of the North Florida Christian Bass Club tourney on the 12th. They are expecting 100+ boats so that is probably why everybody is tight lipped right now.

Also, the BASS Weekend Series 2 day is on Sept. 19-20.
So my tourney is at the end of October. Florida Bass Federation State Championship. My goal is to qualify for the State Team. I thought I was going to have lots of time to practice as I had been unemployed since March when I got laid off from Circuit City. Of course, I finally get a job
The tourney is October 24th and 25th, launching out of Palatka. As for what days I will be up there, I really don't know yet. After September 24th I will have to pull this post as that is the beginning of the no outside info period. The days I have off usually fall on weekends right now. Other than the 18 and 19th of September it could really be any weekend. If you have some free time let me know and I will see if I can get the days off that may work for you. I know it may not mean much, but I would not share any info given if it is a concern of someone losing their spot or their info being given away before their tourney. Is it the TBF Federation? The BASS Federation state tourney is supposed to be on Okeechobee this year I thought.
