12 lbs 9 oz caught on 4/28/1975 Lake Eufaula
I went for about 6 hours Saturday. I went down stream to the dam and fished a few spots on the way back up as the wind was pushing me harder than the current would carry me. I was really there to make a test run for a new hydraulic jsckplate I had put on and didn't get a chance to put my transducer back on. It was nearly impossible trying to fish a water I had never been on with no bottom graph. They were pulling water from about 10 untill 12 but still didn't seem to help me out any. From the looks of the water line on the banks, I would guesstimate the water was down about 1- 1 1/2'.
Going to try again this weekend and if I can seem to put something together I'll going to try to fish with ya'll on the 10th.
Joe - you are right on the money - the current was moving and the fish were lock jawed - they were sucking the bottom out of the river - from safe daylight to noon they had dropped it over 1ft in that time period - i was glad it was windy cause that helped keep things cool -
maybe we will get some rain by the 10th - cause that type of draw locks the fish up.
