How do you prove you own the boat? I bought a boat and trailer in Alabama and now trying to register it in Louisiana. If I am the fourth owner of the trailer and none of the other sales required a bill of sale or title transfer, how can I prove who owns it?
Not sure you can prove you own the trailer, but the Alabama boat registration paper should have a serial number listed for the boat and motor.
A bad day of fishing is still a bad day of fishing, but it beats some of the alternatives!!

DMV keeps copies of the bill of sales of all transactions of that boat..The Al erg does act as a title and the bill of sale will confirm your new ownership..
My wife was a notary in louisiana and we had to get proof of ownership from a judge on one boat we bought. Call the fish and game office for registration. It will be a pain in the butt.
