Help on Smith Lake in Early April

I would appreciate any information that can be shared on fishing Smith Lake in early April. I have only fished Smith Lake a few times ever in my life, and I would like to learn more about the lake around the Smith Lake Park area. From what I know, you can fish for both spots and largemouth at Smith. Are there specific spawning areas that are better for either species of bass? From map study, it seems that there are some shallow areas at the back of Simpson Creek and maybe in the area called Miller Bottoms. Any information you can share would be greatly appreciated.

find clear water=find beds. they will be everywhere. Go toward the dam and get away from park. the clearer the water the better you can see.

Bustasack knows Smith! If you want to stay around the Park, fish around the bushes as the water will be up. Spots and largemouth will spawn around them. You don't neccesarily have to sight fish the beds, but a lizard or jig around these bushes will pay off. Good luck, great time to fish Smith!
