    Results SoAl October TX

SoAl had their annual Meet n Greet tx on Lake Mitchel and what an awsome tx it was. We had our biggest turnout ever and all 16 boats weighed in a limit! There were reports of many teams catching lots of fish and culling during the day and even a few sad stories of big ones being lost.
Thanks goes out to Todd, Harry, Alan, Joey and all our members who traveled so far to fish with us.
But the best part was the cookoput after the tx. Another hit from chef Rick. Also a special thanks to Warren and Jason for helping with the tx along with the whole SoAl club.
Congratulations to Joey and Earl for their first place finish. Rick and Eddie took second place. Wes and Bryan coming in third. Big fish honors go to Steve and his son. I heard Steve lost a bigger fish his son hooked on his superman rod and reel and Steve grabbed the rod to help. Thanks dad!

OH man what an awesome tourny out and and limits by all.

    Congratulations to all who fished.

I so wanted to come to this event but on top of my wife's car parts, buying a new rod/reel combo and having to work 12hrs today it was not to be.

it was the best turnout i can remember and i think i've been hanging around since 2004 or 2005 before the split.... great food and a great time... i also heard several folks talking about the fish biting good and that is always nice.

Jacob did have a nice one on early that his dad knocked off with the net....it was a bit bigger than our big fish...i did let him play with a drum that was a hand length longer than my 22" golden rule... he had some fun with that. we seemed to be on a good drum bite as we caught several with the two biggest i would estimate around 4 and 8lbs.

was good to see some new faces and some faces i hadn't seen in a while. glad Harry and Alan could make the drive down from up north as well as everyone else.

Really a great tournament....fish were biting, but I have to say that the hamburgers/hot dogs, brownies, baked beans, and good fellowship were definitely the best parts. Thanks to Rick and Eddie for going to a lot of effort to prepare a great cookout. This tourney seems to get better every year.

Max and I also enjoyed the camping and talking with Tommy and Josh the night before. Max was proud to tell his mom that it was a sucessful trip based on his criteria: 1) We caught five fish 2) he got two splinters 3)He had a tick attached to him 4) He got some poison ivy on his leg 5) He met a new friend his age (Jacob) .....what more could a 5-year old want??

that's awesome.... i forgot to say thanks again to Chad for helping me and Jacob get in and out of the water. it was greatly appreciated as he gets nervous when left in the truck by himself...

the first thing jacob told his mom was he made a new friend Max that was 5 and wasn't afraid of spider webs either and that daddy made him lose a big fish. then he went to sleep and didn't wake up until 5:45 this morning. he was wondering if Max was going to be fishing with us again and could we go back to that place with the playground cause the fish bite there...

Congratulations to the winners. Enjoyed seeing some of the Yanks downs South. Harry hope you got Rick's bake bean recipe. Don't want that one to get away, took him too long to get it. Great to see all of the old (RICK) BBC's and new ones. We had a great time with friends and our BBC family. Look like two young future BBCers made friends also.
Rick thanks for being a great cook I know I enjoyed your cooking and look like everyone else did
Eddie thanks for making everything come to gather like it did.
Weather was great, fish was bitting and I think everyone had a good time. See you'll next time

Had fun guys. Thanks to Rick for the great food; maybe you can do this at every tournament!
A bad day of fishing is still a bad day of fishing, but it beats some of the alternatives!!
