    NEW BOAT!

    I recently purchased a 1996 champion 181. it has a Johnson fast strike 150 with surprisingly low hours. I got a mega deal on this boat! it came with a 80lb ultrex, a helix 9, and Garmin 73sv in the back. has a hotfoot and blinker trim. the only thing im scared of since this is my first boat and I made a decently large financial decision in my life for a 18 year old is the cable steering. I've done research on it and it seems like prop torque and pulling to the right is just the nature of the beast! this boat is for real a craigslist gem[/HTML]

    congrats. pics don't work, please try again. I don't have cable steering but I don't think I'd be afraid of it. Not just with the steering but with the boat overall, it's gonna take some seat time to get the hang of it. Steering will just be part of it. Bunch of people like it, think it gives better feed back than hydraulic.

    I have a 171 DC that I put hydraulic steering in and don't regret it at all . Cost me about 500. after it was all said and done.

    it was! I saw it 6 hours after the guy posted it! texted him and drove 5.5 hours to pick it up. good guy and a great deal!!

    hey okie, its has a raker 24 which was worked for hole shot. half tank of gas light load one guy I can crank 65mph easy
