Would mixing gas/oil cause hole shot to suffer a little in my 1999 200 EFI?
I know the hot weather is part of it, but this happened before it got hot as well.
When I bought the boat, the alarm would not stop going off, even tho oil pump was mixing / working properly.
After shop did too much investigation...$$$, he found out it MIGHT be something that costs like $300 more + labor.
Can't remember what the part was called.
In the meantime, I was on here asking whether I should unhook oil... some said yes because of plastic gear, others said no.
So, after I owed shop more $ than I wanted to pay, I didn't want to add the $300 + labor for a "maybe" and unhooked the oil.
Part of that $ was also cleaning rails and change LU oil, impeller, plugs and more I can't recall.
I only ran motor a couple times before this, so I can't recall to compare performance.
Wondering if hole shot will be better if I hook oil back up and find out why alarm keeps going off.
I think in the EFI, that at idle / slow speeds, the oil pump mixes less than 50:1 until it speeds up.
So when I go to take off, it's doggish for a few secs, THEN decides to kick in and go.
Is that because it's burning oil off the plugs at 50:1, then takes off good after that?
It hauls the mail once on plane.
Sorry if this was too long. Just trying to explain it right. Thanks ahead!
