I've not had any experience with them but if D&D Marine's service department is anything like their sales or parts departments, I wouldn't recommend them.

Ask for Chris at the Boat Wrench on South Parkway. He knows quite a bit about Merc's and has always treated me right every time I have had mine worked on there. Also, there is a guy out towards Florence that has several years working on Merc's as well. I have his name and number around here somewhere, I just can't seem to find it.
EDIT: I found the name and number: Harold's Marine (256) 247-1404 - I have never dealt with Harold's Marine, but a man at the ramp spoke very highly of him one day when I was having trouble. I think he mainly does Yamaha's now, but has nearly 20 years working with Merc's.

Harold worked for Russell Marine here in Florence for a number of years and opened his own shop near the intersection of AL-101 and US-72 in Elgin when they sold their business probably eight or ten years ago. My Yamaha never required a lot of work other than routine maintenance but he always did a great job at a reasonable price and I'm sure he does the same quality work on Mercs as well.
I have 3 friends that have used AllPro and spoke very highly of them.If my memory is correct, when i had my first optimax, the mercury reps highly recommened Mark Rizk as a mechanic(not a bad fisherman also).
Dropped it off at All Pro yesterday and I will post my experience when complete. Thanks to everyone for replying, that's what makes this one of the best sites on the net.![]()
