I would say the best middle of the way point is on Cahaba Valley Road (U.S. 119) that is on Exit 246 off of I-65. This is the Pelham area....there are alot of restaurants close by and it is an easy on and off of the interstate. There is a Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Best Western.
For a little bit different approach, on the same exit (Exit 246), you can stay at Oak Mountain State Park and get a cabin for about the same price as a hotel room (maybe a little more...about $100 a night) and have the ability to stretch out a little. It is a 10,000 acre state park just off the interstate. Cabins have 2 bedrooms, kitchen, and living room on a smaller lake just out the back door. Just look under State Parks at http://www.outdooralabama.com . http://www.alapark.com/OakMountain/Cabins/
I always prefer it because you can cook out or go out to dinner and it is very convenient at that particular location. </TD></TR></TABLE>

I'm gonna be down there. My relatives live off that exit, I'll be staying with them. Maybe we can go out and eat one night.

Wow. I did not know you have any relatives that still claimed you.

I will be down also. I am thinking of stay over on 280 near the Summit at the Wingate. The wife and I stayed there this weekend and she really like it. Good location if you are not going to the lake and have a wife with you. It was only about $60 a night if you book it now on hotels.com. It is a striaght shot to the weigh-in and trade show.

Re: Bass Master Classic in Feb. (wompuscat)

What is the last day of the classic weigh-in ? I thought the last fishing day ended on a Saturday. And does everyone fish all three days ?
    Thanks.
