Lake Master mapping on 1199??

I have a 1199 and want to get a Lake master chip. I looked on Humminbirds website and it does not list any of the 99 series units as compatible with either the Lakemaster or Lakemaster Plus chips. I assume because they are not considered legacy products.

Can someone please confirm which Lakemaster chips are compatible with my 1199 series unit? Also is the Plus version worth the extra money to get the aerial overlay?

Yes, Lakemaster is compatible with your 1199ci HD SI Combo as well as older models.
The unit compatibility list is on the Humminbird website in the Cartography tab for PRODUCTS.

IIRC, the SAT overlay didn't work on Core units with a + card, I only messed with it briefly in a 800 series unit.

Might have been a setting I missed too.

IIRC, the SAT overlay didn't work on Core units with a + card, I only messed with it briefly in a 800 series unit.

Might have been a setting I missed too.

So the PLUS version still works, but not necessarily the satellite overlay? I may still get the Plus to have it when I inevitably upgrade units.

Yes they are, just looked before I did post #2. It's a spread sheet with Lakemaster products and unit models.

Select a product, go down to Manuals, then download the Cartography Compatibility List.

I have Lakemaster Northeast V2.0 in my 1198 and 1199 and all is good. I removed the Navionics I had in them due to Lakemaster has northern Champlain in HD now in V2.0.

Found what you're talking about. I was looking at the web-based compatibility list. Thanks! Looks like the 1199 SI HD is compatible with both the regular and Plus.

No promises because of my screwy hours & the truck's in the shop ATM - but if I think of it - I will see if I can view the SAT overlay on my 859DI.

On that page I did "see all" and only Helix units came up - no Core.

I don't doubt you can't see the mapping, but the Core units don't have the multi layer overlay capability (for SAT, etc) IIRC.

If they do, Wayne will chime in.

The compatibility list shows the 1199 is compatible with the PLUS version and Chart Select.

There has been no software update for the multi-layer single purchase Chart Select product for the older units like my 1198c SI Combo. Last update for mine is 7.670, 6/23/2015

Multi-layer is contours, more than one year of satellite overlays, USGS map overlay, and SmartStrike. You can purchase each layer individually, as a total package, or not with the contour map.

I got the non-Plus version, I didn't see where the extra features would be beneficial for me.

I did verify the SAT overlay does indeed function on newer Core units today as Wayne stated.

I also had to use the trolling motor all day too.
