I just bought a 1975 85hp Evinrude motor and have replaced all four ignition coils, spark plugs and a new stater to try and fix this problem. When I start the motor on the hose in the driveway it seems to run fine for a while but after warming the engine it begins to misfire outside the engine. I can here the spark firing outside the plug sometimes on both sides. I have touched the plug wire to see where it is coming from and have gotten shocked. This has been the problem from the begining. I don't know what to do next. Could my plug wires not be connected properly. I have tried to tighten them into the coil a few times. Help!!!
