is feb. to early for bass fishing the big guntersville? what is the best time ?

Nah, fishing can be tough in Feb depending on the weather, but it can also be some good fishing too. If we have just average temps the fishing is Feb is pretty good. You won't catch alot of fish, but the ones you catch will usually be good ones.

I found out last Sunday how tough it can be, I didn't catch a fish!!!! It's been fishing tough lately due to the cold weather. Highest water temp I saw was 44 degrees. Check out Spinnerbait Kid's reports over on the Alabama fishing reports page. He is a guide up there and is constantly on the water, he can give you an idea of what's going on.

I'll be back up there tomorrow, hopefully with some of the more average temps we've been having the water has warmed up and the fishing will be better.

I'm hoping that them heads bite up there in February I've got 3 tourneys scheduled up there one on the 7th one on the 14th and one on the 28th . It's always and windy and sometimes it rains or snows but I keep on going back in February Come on over that water may be cold but it still makes waves

Feb us my fav big fish month on the G! Watch what the FLW boys do this coming weekend!!!! I think it will take 20 a day to make the 2 day cut. They are hitting Gville just right.

Some of the guys I talk to say you may possibly see a couple of 30lb bags from the FLW boys. I hope my boy Andy Morgan wacks em. Jan and Feb are big fish months on the Big G.

NEVER a bad time to hit the G .. Last year 1st week of Feb the G gave up a 13.5, a 12 , and many 9s that's just the ones I actually saw pics of.
With this weeks warm weather in the high 60s and low 70s good time to catch the big gurls .. you prob wont catch lots , but the ones you do get will have a greater chance of being 10+
Be prepared for white caps tad windy last few days
