Great pics Danny. After Avery gave us the morning pep talk and said "go get 'em men!" you can see (in the 2nd pic) Harry praying before we head out and me wiping the tears from my eyes before they freeze. Considering the conditions fishing wasn't all that bad. We caught 10 but almost all were in the slot. We had 2 between 12" & 13" but they weren't worth weighing. Together they might have weighted 1.5 lbs (optimistic). Everything we caught was deep. 30+ feet.

After this Wilson has got to be good! Jason, what is Wilson like in February?

Had a great time It was fun to man-up and fish in those conditions. Congrats to Chad and Brian for giving us a schooling on those smith lake fish. Good to meet everyone again, and that was a fine pep talk Avery gave ,made us want to get out in 17degree weather and fish.

It was nice to see everybody and do a little fishin again. Lets see if we can find a little better weather next time . When we left out we me and Jeff thought it was going to be really good day Had a spot on the 4th cast 15 1/4inches. Then the next thing we know it was 1:30 and and 1 fish still in the well . Last move gave us 1 15 1/4 and one just under 13 with another just under 15 and another over 15 getting off about 10 ft from the boat . Tuff but still a good day fishing . And I appreciate you letting me tag along for this one Jeff. I'll miss the next one got a BWS at G'ville. Gotta start collecting on the Christmas present my wife gave me . So good luck to all on Wilson

It was good meeting you guys! Brian and I had a great time and look forward to fishing with you guys again. We were fortunate to get 5 decent overs on both a shakey head and a spider grub in anywhere from 20ft all the way to about 50ft of water. Most our fish were hanging around deep brush piles. We lost two fish that might have helped our weight. I broke one off and Brian had one come unbuttoned that had his rod loaded up pretty good. The weather was actually not as bad as I was expecting but it was still pretty cold. I think the eyes on my rod stayed frozen the whole day. I think it was around 10pm last night when I finally thawed out.......

For me it was more like 10 this morning before I thawed out, at least that is when the feeling came back in my finger tips. Definitely a tough day, but Chad and Brian showed us all that the fish were there to be caught. I will see everyone on Wilson in February, unless it is cold, and then I am just going to stay in bed.

I'm hoping it's going to be good. I'll have a jig in my hand most of the day. How deep that jig will be is yet to be determined.

Congrats to the winners. Nice fish.

Oh for crying out loud!! Man Up and throw them Blades and big cranks! Don't overlook that bluff wall by the hump with the house on top. Good cranking area and good for "other" things too.

Congrats to winners! Man it was cold. Ya'll really do like to fish! Just for some info for Wilson, going to be a BAIT tournament out of Safety same day (30-45) boats. It this going to be a problem for that ramp location. Might be able to make that one?

If we launch by safe light according to Alan and Harry, we'll be long gone before the BAIT guys get ready.

Do we want to consider moving to Fleet Harbor? There was another decent sized tournament the last time we fished out of Safety Harbor and it was a real dog show!

How come nobody seems to use turtle point? I'm not local but it seems to be a nice ramp. I could see if it was a night t, but i have put in there many times with no problem.

I like the fleet harbor idea myself, but whatever you guys decide, will be just fine with me.

I have never been on Wilson and have no idea where either ramp is. Somebody just give me directions from Cullman, and point me in the best direction to not hit anything and I will be happy.

Lock Six ramp, which I presume is the one you're referring to as Turtle Point, is a decent ramp but has a couple of things going against it. First of all, it's right on the main lake and there's absolutely no protection from the wind no matter which direction it's blowing from. Secondly, there isn't any place to tie up. That's not a big deal if you're fishing with a partner but it's a real problem is you're fishing solo.

I still suggest that we consider moving to Fleet Harbor which is the one at Wilson dam.

Re: results of NALABBC Smith lake ice T (AveryF)

Just for clarification....Fleet Harbor is the one next to Wilson Dam (south side of river, east side of dam). It is a pretty good ramp but will be extremely slick (it's a steep ramp) if it's cold. It is protected and has places to tie up.

Safety Harbor is the one off 101 next to Wheeler Dam. It's the best location but will also be crowded with the other tournament.

Lock Six is a difficult ramp with any wind blowing. Their isn't anywhere close to the water to do the weigh-in or anywhere to tie up. Their are also a couple of other ramps on the lake, but I think you really need to stay with either Safety or Fleet.

Re: results of NALABBC Smith lake ice T (1niceStratos)

you guys need to get down to Lock Six ramp more often. It has a new concrete retaining wall/dock that is 40-50' long on the south (river) side of the ramps. It blocks the wind and waves nicely. Also adding other dock. They weren't finished with all their work a month ago. I was down there when the sailboat sinking fiasco went down, but it is shaping up nicely. Wind is not a problem there anymore, unless it is a gale force WSW wind. You guys should look at using it. Centrally located and right off 72...
