upper bear. its takes 20-25 lbs to win the big fish are starting to bite up there!
Wow! You guys are making this one tough!
On one hand, Upper Bear is reasonably close so it isn't much of a drive but we've been fishing it about every six months or so here lately. On the other hand, we've only fished Weiss once before that I know of (September '05) and I'd kind of like to fish it again. The only real bad thing about it is that it's a hard 3+ hour drive from here.
I had also pondered throwing one of the other Tennessee River lakes in the hat but decided not to. Mid-April is traditionally when TVA raises the water to summer pool and the water is chock full of debris, floating logs, etc. which makes running those lakes really treacherous for a good two weeks or so.
Decisions, decisions.....
just think of that gaint spot you will catch on the next cast on upper bear. or even one of those 10 pound elusive large mouths. lol i have no problem with the Tn river ethier but im liking upper bear right now.
wiess would 4 or more hours to me so it would be out of the qeustion for me and im wanting to fish with yall again yall are a great bunch of guys that dont put a young guy like me down.

Why in the world would anyone want to "put you down"? Just because you're young? Hell, at my age nearly everyone looks young! Besides, from what I've seen, you're a pretty damn good stick! And it's all about the camaraderie, anyway. Well that's what us old, gray-haired no-fish-catching types think anyway.
Did someone mention young? I used to think that about myself. This past birthday really put a damper on my spirits though.
Oh well. I vote Pickwick.

In reply to giant spots . My largest Spot was in late March on Weiss . It weighed a whopping 8+ lbs. I have a picture and several witnesses of the fish . Was weighed in at the closest bait shop on Weiss . Caught on a Strike King Spinnerbait off rip rap.
There was a Spot last week weighed in just over 6 lbs also . Food for thought ?

thanks for the kind words. but im not that good but i may get lucky once in a while lol.
I would like to finally join you all for a tourney if any one has a open back seat don't really matter where as long as I FISH. If there is a seat open for the April tourney just IM me.
i will vote for upper bear also.
people are saying the fish are going on the beds up on upper bear. it only took 14 lbs to win today after taking 26 lbs last weekend to win. the fishing is going to be tough up there. just thought i would throw that out there also
did you fish the fontaine tournament friday? I did and yep, only took 14 lbs. to win it. I may have to fish the april tx from the back of someones boat, i had a crash fri. coming home fromt the tournament friday and got my new truck and my boat, (well, actually just the trailer was damaged) but, gotta have parts to fix it.
naw i didnt fish it but i had a freind fish the one on saturday and it took 14lbs on that one also and he told me he saw the winners fishing for bed fish. he saw about 5 on beds himself. i hate it when upper bear is tough, makes me want to change my vote but oh well.
man what happend how did ya wreck?
