Well, since our January tournament was canceled due to weather issues, we're going to plan on fishing Smith in February instead. We'll still launch out of Speegle's if no one objects and plan to meet between 5:30 and 5:45 for registration.
Hopefully the weather will be a lot more co-operative!

I noticed on another board that there is a B.A.I.T. tournament scheduled for speegles on the 16th also. I have now idea how many boats they will have, or if it will affect the use of the ramp there.
There probably wont be more than 20 boats in the BAIT tournament. As soon as yall get off smith i will be back to fish.

I'm guessing you dislike Smith about as much as I hate fisning on Wheeler. I still fish there, though, but only when I absolutely have to.

No, Danny, that would be Lake Tuscaloosa followed closely by Wheeler!!
smith and Lake T are a lot alike in some ways. I dont mind a tough lake every now and again, I think it helps making me a better fisher. At least that what I tell myself when I go home skunked :)

I read somewhere that Smith is fishing better than ever and the water is rising so it should make for some interesting fishing. If we don't have another winter storm come through next weekend.
Smith isn't a bad lake I won a tx there one year with 20lbs of spots but haven't got that lucky since. My reel handle broke and while I was fixing it the wind blow me in the back of this pocket and just happened that the fish were on bed, so I sight fished the rest of the day and got lucky and won.
ill be there , can i paint up one of them stripers make it look like a bass? one fish should be enough to win lol thats the only thing i have ever targeted on the lake
ok ive done all my post etc. to join bass club can i do it all at ramp or what?
