Well, not exactly - but it was pretty close. Thanks to some big time post-frontal conditions with high blue-bird skies, we didn't have a single limit brought to the scales.

Tommy Baker and Danny Howell won with three fish and also had big fish honors. I don't remember exactly how much they weighed in or what their big fish weighed, though. Let's just say that it was a little less than ten pounds and let it go at that.

Upper Bear was a bear saturday. But dont let the slow day worry anyone, that lake rokks! I can't wait to go back. Tommy and myself fished hard with little results, we had a limit of fish bite(barely) but only managed 3 in the boat. Summer cold front killed the bite.
Thanks Tommy for letting me tag along, my head wasnt in it like it needed to be, I almost left early a couple of times, glad I didnt:)

Next month, I'm voting for Logan Martin.
IF that one is to low I'll move(my vote) up the coosa to neely henry or weiss depending on water levels.
I would like to stay off G'ville for 1 more month to let the grass grow a little more.

    thanks and fish on

Oh, I forgot to mention that I'll have to abstain from voting for a lake for this month since I won't be able to attend. Our 24th wedding anniversary is that weekend and there's no way I'd miss spending it with my wife. I may have to give up my man card but, trust me, she's worth it!!

I'm not going to vote neither I may have to miss due to medical test on my wife, I'll try to fish if at all possible, but just in case I can't make it I won't vote. Just found out how the night tournament that put in at upper bear, after us, came out , they must have woke up and went back to biting, 20 lbs

My vote goes to Kentucky Lake. If it doesn't win, that's still where I'll be fishing on the 18th.

I guess we'll have to wait and see. It looks like Guntersville is the clear winner for now so what I think we ought to do is to see how many folks sign up to fish.

It does not look like I can make it afterall. I thought I was finally going to make another one of these. I will keep trying and maybe I can attend another one in the next couple of months.
