    Lake Guntersville

I am originally from Chattanooga but have lived in Middle Georgia for the last 40 years. I have a lake place at Lake Sinclair which at one time was capable of giving up 40-50 bass per day. Pressure has just about destroyed it. A good day is now 3-5 bass a day. I'm thinking about going to Guntersvill for a week in July(I prefer to fish deep water). How about some advise about places to stay, etc. I would like a place with individual cabins. Also what baits do I need to bring and do I need to rig up for extra clear water, etc. I would also like to have access to a boat slip so that as not to have to trailer each evening. At my age trailering a Ranger for a couple of 100 miles is enough. Thanks for any advise you can give me

Bill, Guntersvile State park has cabins but dont know about individual boat slips. Covenant Cove is nice motel on the water. As for tackle, gear up man. HEavy heavy milfoil and hydrilla by then. Water will run somewhat clear in summer but be prepared to get into the grass. No need for spinning gear then, just goat rope heavy jigs flipped, alot of topwater over grass. You'll love the G!

Checkout http://www.southsautyresort.com nice place great food and Dwight Hanners knows and will tell you where the Hogs are. We go every year and that is a great place...great people too! He posted a picture of a 9lb plus from January. Anytime we haven't caught'em we go in to the store and ask Dwight within 10mins of going to the places he has told us we are right in the middle of them. No kidding!

Goose Pond Colony, Scottsboro. You can "Google it". Cabins, Bait Shop, latest info., ect PLUS the bestest cheeseburger on the lake!
