Live updates and map updates with Navionics!
Truly a system you can build on, not replace every 2 years
That looks like the route I may take. Looks pretty impressive!

Don't make the mistake I made, if you go Garmin make sure to check the lake map list first, I didn't and discovered Garmin has chitty coverage in NC....

They also don't come out with units every few years to make you upgrade, Or feel like you need to.

This Axiom looks to be the first entry into the fresh water with everything built in, unlike there other units that you just added what you wanted or needed with a transducer and box.
Now I can buy just one of my units, and upgrade the others with LH3. and see all the transducers and 3d on any unit.
Matter of fact I will be over doing it, cause I could get just a display on the ram to see the RV100, Inhull sonar, and Di chirp from the trolling motor on it

Humminbird has mega si and 360, raymarine has neither. Raymarine has 3D, humminbird does not. Lowrance has 3D also. Garmin has panoptix, no one else does. Garmin has true chirp 2d out of the box, humminbird and lowrance can with additional equipment. Raymarine does not. Garmin and humminbird also chirp down and side scans, raymarine and lowrance does not. Clear as mud?

So you didn't answer the question, which maps does it come with for that price??

Humminbird also shows the price at 1699 not 1650.

Lots of talk about this new raymarine unit but no real world pictures from normal users.
hard to beat helix 9-12 for value. SI pics aren't even close from anything I've seen.
    DI is awesome as well
auto chart live, charts as you fish... don't have to pull the sd card and play on a computer to make maps.

Correct, no real world user images - they just started shipping this week.

Sonar Charts Live - also on the unit, no play on the computer

    Boondock,
You can make topo maps with Navionics, Do sonar logs and upload them to Navionics and they update the maps and send them back on updates. All thru your phone of a wifi connection also without removing the card and going to the computer.
Plus it syncs your spots and trails to your tablet or phone to carry in another boat.

Im sure HBird can do that also. They all pretty much do that stuff now I believe.
The Hbird has some great images for sure, hopefully we will be getting some Axiom screen shots once they start getting shipped

Yea but the Difference, and a big one, ya don't come out with a new unit every other year!!!!
When your on a budget and you can buy a new boat or new units every other year, the fact that you have a product that keeps current is HUGH!!!!!!

So basically its 1699 and you have to buy a map??

The 360 another grand or 1500 for it.

Raymarine has Chirp side vision and Chirp Down Vision and High Frequency chirp sonar!!! Raymarine has True Chirp included, buy the right from Lawrence!!!! They don't have anything that looks ahead. No 360 or Panaoptix each at 1000 plus to have on the others.

Not wanting to argue or fight but lets get the facts straight!!!!

You only need to go to the websites and look up the info!!!

So are you getting unit for free hickory or just heavily discounted?
    Helix 9 mega is 1299...
build you own maps with a zero line card ($100) retail.

Best SI by a ton from any images I've seen.

Ray marine may be awesome, but no real world shots out yet. Lot to spend on speculation.

just because new units come out doesn't mean you have to buy.
HB seems to support and update their products for around 5 years

No free units here or discounted at all!!!!

I have had the others and got tired of the ole send in another check and well upgrade you.

Raymarine has the same basic deal, 100 bucks and you get Navionics with build your own, community edits etc. You can look at their website for details.

Raymarine offers 3 years warranty. 10 years support form the last production date. 10 day max turn around. I have sent a unit out on Friday and had it back the next friday with the OS updated!!!

How is the Onyx support going!!!!

Look at the guys making a living fishing, not the bass guys being sponsored but the guys on the coast. How many are running birds and Lawrence on the charter boats.
Yes there are others beside Raymarine but not the freshwater guys!!!

I run Honda and Raymarine. neither has ever let me down!!! There built to last!!!!

    Can't upgrade the OS yourself?
Seems like a better way to go like most of the others.
You buy a computer, fish finder or any electronic device you have to expect a new "better" device to come out.
Its the nature of the business.
i look at what it can and will do for me now and not worry about keeping up with the latest at greatest (the jones).
