Beautiful boat, I have a couple of problems with it, one really chaps my rear, the latches on all the compartments look like they just cut them out of a piece of 1/4 inch sheet metal, they do not look like they belong on a 65K dollar boat, is it possible that they put the cheaper latches that may go on a entry level boat on my Elite package boat ? Anyone have a 12 model HP Elite ? If so do you like the latches ? Post a picture if you can, thanks.
Ive noticed that they was using the same latches as they used on the SE model..I like my boat but some of the things it lacks for the price is a lil shocking.
Just curious, stainless steel locks are in the Elite package, and are a option on the SE series. They are nice looking polished locks.
If you look at the website on the xs or hp the pictures clearly show different latches than what my boat came with. Also the area behind the seats that butts up to the livewells, it is about 6 inches wide and runs across the boat, the carpet is not trimmed or bordered, they just cut it with a knife, looks like it will unravel over time, sorry for the rant but when I spend that kind of money I expect a lot more on the detail. I am not trying to put Triton down, I love their boats, just expected more, especially since they are being built where the best boats in the world are built ( supposedly ) Hopefully someone with a 2012 can chime in on this, thanks.
These locks are stainless but they look cheap, do not match the pictures on the website.
And the trailer wheels do not have caps on them, exposed hub, don't seem right to me, my boat may be at the dealer for awhile.

My rig has all polished stainless latches and polished stainless housings with locks...

Did you express your concerns to the dealer that sold you the rig?

That is the latch on my boat, does not match the pictures on website, I am pretty sure they are of quality but they look pretty plain jane to me, maybe I am just too picky. Sure not much room for me to sqeeze my big butt through the narrow opening of the double consoles, when the weather warms that removeable console is coming out, may leave it in there for the old wifey poo.
Yours have the centers cut out in them, I like yours better, adds a little flair.

Joking aside, I would feel the same way as you having dropped that kind of coin. Keep us posted on how things turn out.

I have a 2011 21HP Elite with the latches Robbie posted. They are much nicer than the new ones. I agree that they look and feel cheap, not to mention they practically cut into your hand when you try to open a lid. When the '12 models came in, that was the biggest complaint from everyone that looked at them. The Rangers and lots of others use Southco's. Looks like they would just use the same latch since they are made in the same place...
those latches do look like crap ! when i ordered my 11 xs-elite they came with the none locking latches an before i accepted it, the dealer swapped them for the locking ones ! Drive that rig back an park it in his spot !

Is that the correct latches for the '12's???...
Hopefully it can be resolved to satisfy all involved

One bad thing about the metal latches are they getting freaking HOT down here in the summer!!!! You'll be out there sweating and just about here the sizzle when you go to open one and don't even think about standing on them with bare feet.
Sometimes I need my ATV when in my boat and sometimes I need my boat while riding my ATV.
