Swerve may like this...never thought I would but I picked up one of your customers motors today..2009 250 etec..story line is your dealer ship put a new powerhead on this motor and brand new gearcase at the same time..guys name was randy he is a guide in your area..motor was bought by my buddy almost a year ago...brought it home and never took it out of the crate..just been sitting in the garage..he ended up buying justin Lucas motor flw tour guy ..being its been just in the crate this long should I do anything before running it...since the gearcase is new does it need break-in time..if you need the serial number I can provide it.would like some background on motor if he was one of your regulars

Maybe this etec wont let me done as the last one I owned back in 06 was let's just say junk!!! It spent more time in the water tank at dealer than in the actually lake

You need a background on this motor? To me, it sounds like a brand new motor, new powerhead and gearcase. Background is, it's NEW!

Yep as Swerve said that is Randy Kuens engine and yes he is a guide on Ky Lake. He put several hours on it but they were not hard hours, most of his customers did not like the speed thing. You should have a good solid engine with both a new gear case and new power head. No break in for any Etec but i would take it easy for a few hours.
