97 TR18 ignition problem...i think

My TR18 has started every so often when I try to start it for the first time that it will turn over but not start. If I keep messing with it, it will finally start and run all day, but its that initial startup. I have heard power pack and key switch...I do not lose powerthats why I am thinking key switch?

It is a 1997 TR18 w a 150 johnson faststrike

You will get more help over in the Johnson/Evinrude forum, there are good people there. Are you pumping the ball before every start up?

I will try over there but yes I prime it every start
