on my 01 tracker tx17 with a 40hp mariner, my tach stopped working. what is the best way to go about trouble shooting the issue? is there a way to hook up another tach by running a new wiring harness to one of the coil wires like i can do in a car or is this different?
First check the connections on the back. They got three, "sender", "ignition", and "ground". Make sure they are all tight and corrosion free.
mine done samething replace the voltage regulator and did not fix it. probably the tach mine starts working somedays and sometimes not
