1999 Evinrude 200 FICHT info from serial number

I believe that I have read in the past that someone on here can assist with service records and recall work based off serial number.

I self serviced and called BRP support.

What can anyone tell me about these motors. Opinions are really all the way one side or another. Love it or hate it. Blows up or runs forever.

Did find that this motor had the injector strap recall work performed.

The big blocks weren't as prone to the maladies of the small block engines. As with any used engine the more info you gather the more you know about the engine and can make educated guesses.......

I would have the basic things checked out, compression, lower unit gear oil, if you do not have a laptop with the software, have a dealer check it out for you, the report will tell you a wealth of information about the motor, hours, codes thrown etc. Around here, they charge $40.00 for the report and $100.00 if any mapping updates are needed. It is not recommended that you use these motors for prolonged trolling due to carbon buildup. If you do buy it, run a good oil such as XD-50 or XD-100 and make sure the plugs are indexed. Make sure the injector update was done on the motor.
