I asked Chub about doing this years ago. I understand his rationale for not doing it, but I need that third seat.
The middle seat wraps around you, supports you, and kinda holds you in place. Yeah, it's more windy, but many of us are used to riding in fast single console boats. Just deal with it. Wear goggles. Watch out for seagulls, big bugs, etc.![]()
Dentguy's workmanship is top notch. Most peole should be able to find some time in December-February to let Keith work on the boat. Keith has no problem with road trips. You may be able to work something out with him to make it easier to get him your boat.
Brian
P.S. FYI, I have some decent pics on another fast bast boat message board if you're interested. I love this board, but it's hard for me to post pics here cuz my work computer won't let me go to pic hosting sites.</td></tr></table>
did you get another boat? or did you just spray the old one... i am looking at the pics and it seems you have the same trailer.
As far as the 3rd seat I have put the 3rd person on the floor on a throw cushion facing forward and also have removed the deck extension and put them facing backwards again on the floor on a throw cushion. We do 2 wide on the floor facing backwards in the summer when towing the tube.![]()

Thundercat, yes, it's the same boat. Keith (dentguy) re-gelled the bottom and painted the top cap, except for the consoles which are also gelled. He also repainted the entire trailer, new bunks and carpet, new winch, some extras. Essentially it's a totally brand new boat for a fraction of the cost. The 1999 model has a great, heavy duty "skeleton" to work with though.... Talk to Keith if you'd like more info about that.
We used to have the third person sit on the step/small compartment lid, lean forward a little, and grab the corner of each console. That worked pretty well to 85 mph anyway.
Have to sort of correct you on one thing Brian.. The entire top cap is painted. After we did the mods to the consoles we gelled everything to get it all uniform and to avoid inconsistencies.. It would be pretty tough to get gel coat to match that carbon black we went with..![]()
Thanks for the link. SWEEEET Ride!
Was adding the glove box a big deal?
Any idea on addition of the 3rd seat cost?
Thanks again.

A old school Ranger bench seat would be sweet so people could take the family out and still have a go fast boat with your friends when fishing or playing. I think Stroker would sell more boats.![]()

The bench style seating may be great for the slower boats. IMHO, the air flow at the speed Stroker's run will absolutely pummel the middle passenger. That's the reason Mr. Chub stopped making the single console.
I would not plan on going that fast with more then two in the boat.
