    Stroker boat ??

Ok, I have been looking at stroker boats online for five years. I will be looking to buy a new boat in the next year or so. The boats have great performance and resale. The fit and finish look great. The price is in line for what I am willing to spend. What do you think the down fall of a new stroker would be when tournament fished verses a ranger z521 both rigged with mercury 250xs (xs sport on the stroker) Pleas be honest. You guys talk the boats up great and every rig is custom made. If it is a padded deck then maybe I could have that added on. Recessed trolling motor pedal? Livewell?
Also is there anyone in the north east with one? I will have to see one in person before I lay down that $. It would be nice to get out for a ride. I live in CT.
    Thanks,
    Mike

These are custom boats and you can have just about anything you want on one. Take a look at redline. It was built so a 6'8" 275lb man can fit under the console. You can have it your way with what ever you want to a limit I am sure. Eli lives in Mass. and that is about all he does if fish tour. I sure he would love to show off his boat.

These are great fishing boats. You can have a recessed foot control tray or a "coffin", the livewell system is good, but some have opted to upgrade it, the boat will carry a load fast and comfortable, unlike a Ranger. The Ranger will have some more cosmetic "bells and whistles" and may have more storage.

Talk to Eli, he may be along shortly to offer some of his northern knowledge, and he is always a great ambassador for Strokers. You should get with him to pursue a ride.

I am a Stroker Dealer and if I can help in any way with your new purchase, please let me know. My phone number is 239.289.4900.

    Re: Stroker boat ?? (blair)

So I guess the question I should ask is, what option would you order on your next stroker?
If the boat will hold six rods, a net, 30lb of fishing gear, and safety equipment I am happy.
Blair, I lived in Naples for two years. What a great place. Some great fishing down there! If I go the stroker route I will be down to see you. Old friends, new boat and new friends! Where is your shop? Do you have a web page? I would love to see some pic of deck lay outs and storage.

Mike: I'd be happy to hook up with you and show you my boat and take you for a ride. I do a lot of Tournament fishing and a Stroker is a 1st class Tournament rig for sure

I recently ran in the low 90's with a 280lbs partner, full tank of gas, 3 batteries, 35+ rods, all of our tackle and coolers had to be at least 75 lbs worth and a MG Tour Edition trolling motor + 50 lbs of shot to balance the weight of my partner off so I think it will meet your gear requirements.

Drop me a PM, I hope I can help. In the meantime you can go to my website for some more info on my boat.

I carry about 12-15 rods and more than the 30lbs you carry and have no trouble whatsoever. Call me when you can and we can chat..........

The only downfall is the front of the deck narrows down quickly. I mainly tourney fish, and have for 30+ years. Once you drive AND fish in one, you won't go back, period.

    Re: Stroker boat ?? (CTBASSING)

I have owned a Stroker now for 1 year. It's a 2005 and a few pictures of my boat can be seen on page 4. The boat fishes very well and handles great. I spend most of my time fishing tournaments out of my Stroker and only "race it" going to my spots. I have a Mercury 2.5L 280hp turning a Bullet Cut 26 Performer 3 blade which I've ran right at 90mph. I just bought the prop from Kurt and I love it. (thanks Kurt) Just shipped off my 28 to get worked for bigger water. Boat has more, I just haven't. When I order a new Stroker I'll ask for less cooler and more / bigger livewell. With the divider in place the livewell is a tad on the small side for my liking. If fishing alone or as a team just take the divider out and your best 5 would be ok. 5 on one side and 5 on the other makes me nervous when you start sticking the bigger ones in there. Other than that, it's a great rig and gets a lot of attention.

New strokers are all composite,, I believe it was 96 or 97when that started.. I will be corrected if wrong on the dates

It was an option in 1998 and all were composite in 1999.

    Re: Stroker boat ?? (CTBASSING)

Hooked up with Mike and my friend Dan today to give Mike a afternoon on the water in the boats. Me with my Stroker and Dan and his awesome 21 XDC with a 250 XB.

Had a great time hanging and running with those guys, a little crew shell race kinda had things on hold for a little while but it worked out and we got some good runs in.

Mike's coming from a Ranger with 150 on it so this was a big step up the speed ladder for him today and he settled right in. He didn't seem to mind my driving and Dan's a great driver so that was never a concern.

Got Mike into the mid 90's with me and I then switched props few times and made a few solo passes. Two props went over 100 but one unfortunately couldn't keep it's tips attached to the rest of the blade. Guess that explains the over 2 mph difference in runs and I was scratching my head wondering why it suddenly lost all that speed

Here are a few video's of Dan's boat and mine and a pic that's kinda self explanatory

Some great running. It is amazing how little changes in a prop can effect speed. I think that can be fixed.

I have to say THANK YOU Eli!
I have to say I was surprised! The quality and ride of a stroker is top notch.
Eli was honest, he showed me the whole boat and answers any question I had. The boats do have to be balanced out. The live well is not the biggest.
This hull has lift and will run, I think if we had more room we could have hit bigger numbers. Srtoker will be my next boat!

    Re: Stroker boat ?? (CTBASSING)

Mike: Glad you had a good time with Dan and I the other day We got lucky to get the time we had between the crew races that had us on the bank for a while and then after with the wake boarders and that one boat just sitting in the middle of the running lane

Glad we could at least break triple digits with you there and run low mid 90's with you in it. You saw the some of the "bad" of going fast in that prop that wrecked but it's just part of going ultra high speeds

If you have any other questions give me a shout and Dan and I will have you back for another session soon, hopefully no crew shell races or wake boats the next time
