Probably answered before but I cant find it.
Have a Helix 10 DI and will want to start mapping this spring. I am interested in the weedline and hardness data as well as additional contour detail.
Question 1: My lake is in fact already charted w Lakemaster. How different will the AC Live contour lines be from the ones on my lakemaster chart?
Question 2: I am willing to spend the extra to get the AC Pro software but I am not understanding the value of it besides making copies of my maps for others. Please help me with the pro's and con's of buying a ZLC with or without the PC software. AND...since I am interested in the weedline detail, I assume the standard autochart is not an option.
Thanks for the help.
No way for us to know how much the lake has changed ..... more likely to be a difference if the current Lakemaster isn't HD mapped.
If you are going to use the PC sofware, you need the Pro version to do bottom hardness and vegetation ..... or you could just use the Autochart Live in the Helix with a zero lines card.

Thanks Bob. So just to be clear, the only reasons to get the PC based AC software is:
A. Make copies of your data
B. Ability to study the maps on your PC
All other capabilities and usefulness of AC reside within our Helix units. So, most "normal" users should just buy the ZLC and be done with it.
Actually you can freely copy & past ACL data between cards without any software.
The AC PC versions allow you to translate AC PC and ACL formats so an older Core type unit can benefit from the AC PC mapping abilities...
For most users, easy is good - so more or less, YES on the last part of your post.![]()

You get SI mosaic with AC Pro.
Is there a site where people exchange maps they created?
There are some very small lakes around here and I saw "chart select" but the ones I want are not there.
I ordered autochart pro, I'm just looking for something I can build on.
There is with Navionics but not with Lakemaster that I am aware of.

Howdy from Costa Rica, I have a question regarding the maximum zoom for autochart live, I just got my brand new Helix 5 DI GPS G2, and went out for a ride, after trying to map with autochart live I noticed my scanning results were only visible when zoomed way out (can't remember if 100 or 1000 feet) I would like to be able to see the detail of my chart when zoomed all the way in, actually that is the reason why I bought it.
Any idea what I may be doing wrong so I can't see the colors and lines when zoomed in closer than 100 or 1000 feet (can't remember)
Thanks in advance
Dan
UPDATE: I just checked I can't see any contour lines under 1,000 feet of zoom.

Probably 100 feet.
The closer you zoom the more contour lines and map data has to load into memory, so next time zoom in to 50-100' and WAIT a while & see if the screen doesn't populate for you.

A new update has been released, you might see if it's available for your unit yet.

Is that a new update to the Autochart Pro? If so where can I get some information on it. I just bought Helix Mega and I'm interested in getting the Autochart Pro
Yes, AutoChart (both versions) have a downloadable update you get in your MyHumminbird account when you register the AC PC software.

I'm playing with my new AC program. I found that by googling 'my lake name level', I can get the last month's water levels, so I can build charts with the correct offset.
This data is supplied by the USGS for my lake.
Thought it might help some of you.
So i installed 2 new g2n units at the wheel and purchased the ac pro. I just got the units installed this week and threw the card in friday and went out on the water with my new units and zlc in my h9 g2n chirp 2d/gps and as soon as i put in the zero line card i picked the option to put data on card and not on the unit itself. I was fishing for the day and the part of the screen that was on gps was making a acl overlay map the whole time i was out. I got home installed the software on the computer for ac pro and inserted my zlc. When i pull up the card on the computer it shows two different files in the card but when i click on each file is shows they are empty. What am i missing. When i pulled the zlc out of my unit a pop up screen even came up letting me know that ac data would now be stored to my unit which makes me think that i should have been going to the chip that whole time we were out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
ON a side note i also installed a h10 g2n mega imaging and for the first time out i was blown away what an awesome unit.
Did you stop the recording before shutting down?

No I did not stop recording before I shut the unit off and I'm guessing I was suppose to. Do I just go back into the ac menu on the unit and hit stop recording before powering down the unit? Thanks
