Got a question for y'all Stroker guys

How's it goin guys. Never posted on this forum before but I believe u guys can help me. My cousin recently bought him a stroker and we just finished rigging it up. Sweet boat. 07' red n white bought from Chub. We put a 06' 250 xs on it with sm lower unit. A 12" bobs hydraulic jp. He is running a 28 bravo with 1" holes drilled in it. The problem were havin is no holeshot with the livewell full. Now with no water in livewell it's ok. What can I do to improve the holeshot. Now that's with the jp all the way down and motor tucked all the way in too. Thanks alot guys.

First off do not drop the jack plate all the way down with the bravo.

What are the rpms as you come out the hole. Will they spin up or is it bogging down the motor?

Hi Mo and welcome to the Stroker forum.

It sounds like you may need to open the holes up some more or add a second set of holes. The prop should spin up to about 3500 to 4000 rpms. If it is not, that is your problem.

Another thing to try is run the jackplate up. Mine will actually come out of the hole better with the jackplate up to where the propshaft is about an inch to inch and a half above the pad.

I am sure other will also post other ideas.

It bogs the motor down bad. Now that's puttin the hot foot to the floor too.

I agree with everything that has been said so far You might also want to add a Bman's foil and see if that helps as well but that should be a good prop for you for a fishing load

He should put a foil on there anyway.

For fishing +2 on doing it right off. Anyway you look at it the Bman's foil will almost certainly help

Did I understand that you have 12 inch setback? The Stroker likes 16 inches of setback and the jackplate raised so the propshaft is within an inch of the pad on the holeshot

Wayne this is the exact setup on mine and I have no problems. 16" setback. When the motor is all the way down I'am 1" below the pad and I bump it up from there.

Jeff don't you have a shortshaft on your stroker? We gonna have to look at where is when he puts the motor down. He has a gauge so we can look and see what number its on when we find a sweet spot.

Re: Got a question for y'all Stroker guys (MOE)

Mine is the short shaft with a SM lower. With the jackplate all the way down it's exactly 1" below the pad. I wouldn't recommend going any lower than that from my experience.
Does he have a hydraulic jackplate? Never mind. I went back and read your first post.

We make a jackplate with 5 degrees negative tuck that helps with the hole shot.

Sounds like they are running to deep for that prop. I got a 26 Trophy we can try on it next Sunday.

You'll need to measure center of propshaft to bottom of pad, then read your numbers on the gage. Mark the jackplate at 0 and each inch below and above 0. I used paint on my plate but lots use finger nail polish (a quick ref point). Should also check trim angle, on my sc gage nutural trim is 8.8 thats with 3 degree neg tuck built into the the offset plate.

Re: Got a question for y'all Stroker guys (Strokerdean)

My props also have a set of 1 1/4" plus a set of pvs holes with the barrel shortened to help hole shot. My situation is a little diff than most as I run at a higher elevation than most.
