I haven't tried one but I talked to Mark at Marks Perf Props, he told me that the barrel has been shortened 1/2" plus it has vent holes. When I talked to Jaco's I was told it is made from the newer material Merc is making props out of. Not sure if the new material is better or not.
For a fishing prop that may be a good choice for me in the 29p..interested to know about the material deal...may be a little more ductile..will flex a little more? Sure wish i could get my hands on one..could tell you exactly what grade of stainless it issome grades of stainless will heat treat and harden out different....curious?

I don't think a single 1" hole is adequate for the higher pitches & 1.62 gears.
I ran a regular 30" Bravo with 1" holes, and had to get the passenger to go to the front deck just to get on plane. With the Croxton dual holes, it comes out hard.

Yes.....With 1.62's you will probably need another set of PVS holes
I have 1.75's and sure i can pull it easily but i need a 30 atleast![]()

i talked to scott that makes the bravo xs, and he'll make you any pitch you want....but a cutting edge prop is BETTER... i've got both and the 30p cutting edge is 2 mph faster. also cheaper. greg is a great guy to deal with give him a call949-701-0900. you'll be happy you did.
Scott: How can you get a Merc 29"+ XS Bravo if they only make them to 29" ?
I've heard good things about Greg's props but comparing a 29" to something that is more pitch isn't exactly the same. The XS has some other features and design differences than just a cut barrel and large vent holes.
Now if I could get a REAL Merc 32", 34" and 36" Bravo XS Game ON

Scott at Mercury must be willing to make bigger pitches upon request!
Cheaper? I think the Bravoxs was about $125.00 less..could be wrongJacos?

Well I would buy a beat up bravo for cheap and send it to Mark and have just want I wanted with out paying high dollar for a prop just to have worked.
May be if we ran cookie cutter boats and just wanted a prop to work right out the box the BravoXS would be fine.
he'll make any pitch you want , that's what he told me a the classic when i talked to him in bham....920-924-2037, that'll reach him.
30 performer...Bullet cut..on website for sale...yes or no ? Never ran one![]()
