    Hammer?

I know the modified Hammers run strong, but does Yamaha turn anything out of the factory that will run with a stock Merc 260, 280ros, 300 drag, or 300x?

Where as Mercury builds its own Race Motors Yamaha does not. HydroTec builds the race motors seen here and elsewhere.

It is a matter of warranty between the two motors.

Call Wayne at HydroTec at 417-725-5714 and he can explain it to you. Yamaha has a 5 year warranty.

The yamaha has a better holeshot out of the box and then better top end too after HT is done... Depends if you want a quick and fast boat with twice the warranty.

    Re: Hammer? (21XDC)

Are you guys telling me that you get a 5 year warranty with a 370hp motor? If so what are the cost? Do you have to buy a new motor and then take it to WW for mods or do you get them new and modified from him with warranty?

    Re: Hammer? (21XDC)

That is my understanding. Call Wayne and talk with him as he can explain the Phase Kits and what you can expect and the hole big picture. Great guy easy to talk to and extremely knowledgeable on the motors.

The warranty is factory... Not from HT.

So the factory still honors its waranty after HT modifies it to 370hp?

    Re: Hammer? (HOMERUN)

Just call HT and see what thay say, or buy a 300xs with a 2 year warrenty ( 1 year extended) = 3 years and live with your decision, I did.

    Re: Hammer? (Strokerdean)

I am running a fresh 280ros powerhead now and am very pleased with it. Johnnyrude can't play, but these phase III rice burners sound pretty mean. Nobody in my neighborhood runs one. The warranty is tempting but sounds very expensive.

    Re: Hammer? (HOMERUN)

You don't have to buy a New one you could pick up a used on and go Phase III with it. I think I saw a 250 HPDI Phase III on fastbass for about $13,500.00. I know that motor and it is a good one.

    Re: Hammer? (NixaMan)

But @ 13,500 and used how much warranty left? The alluring thing is 370hp and 5 year waranty. That shocks me
