One thing no one has mentioned is you still have to convert to a sportsmaster lower unit to realize the potential speeds. That cost a few G's more.

Mike, if thats the case, why do the fast ones have the SM with 1.62 gears. If your considering a change, I have learned to do it right the first time with all the goodies. I held back on my Stroker and put my 67# tm on it when I really wanted the new 82#. I still have the 67#, it won't get replaced until it is unfixable. Just my opinion.
The HydroTec Modified HPDI lower unit is very capable and safe at speeds over 100mph. The motor for sale on fastbass was on a Stroker and that boat reached speeds over 100mph and could fish all day with two people and tourney load at speeds over 90mph. Wayne and the boys have built a very good lower unit and it does well on the boats. If at a point in the future you have the coin for the Sportmaster then do it then but the HPDI will work just fine for now. Just call Wayne he will tell you straight with no Bull Poop. He is an honest business man that prides himself on Customer Service and doing the right thing.

I'd like to add that the Yamaha lower unit can also for a few hundred dollars be modified by Titus Grisham and here's that case running on a 3.1 Hydro Tec Phase III that ran all day with two in the boat @ 106
Get with Wayne and Matt at Hydro Tec and you won't go wrong! Don't forget they also have done Hi Perf Merc work for champion Champ boat teams and other Merc Hi perf stuff.
Nope..but C/O does. Its the dealer that will hook you up..what Mods..

I know the Stroker hull really responds well to horsepower, But does the Norris Craft like High horsepower big block power? or do they only run with a merc racing engine that is no longer available with any waranty

While a Norris Craft XLVEE hull is faster than the cookie cutters, I don't think it will run with the big three. A stroker/ HT 370hp interest me but no one will tell me what they cost. Also a NC is a handfull above 80gps
