    Props

Hello Guys.......my son fishes out of a 520V Ranger...225 Merc....25 tempest..it will run on a straight line 71ish...6000 rpm,s...when you corner in this thing..it is like hitting a brick wall..it lays down and plows until you starighten it up..it also has a hydraulic plate...doesn't help a bit...have any of ya'll talked to anyone running the new Fury props..this thing has no bow lift...I also put this on the Ranger site

Rangers do not have much bow lift in the first place, I would assume that he is falling of the pad if it starts to plow. Rangers require positive trim and the lower unit requires it to be in the water so the jack plate helps it get to 71 but the low seventies is all you are going to get out of that boat.

A friend of mine has the same rig, not sure what prop he is running but at 4350 ft elev he runs about 60/63 mph. Very nice rig but not for me.

Sounds like a Tempest would be a much better match for that boat.

Oooopssss! I miss read your post!!

But I still think that the tempest is a better prop then the fury on that boat.
Now my brother had a pro craft with the 225efi merc. that did the same thing as you are talking about and he switched from the tempest to a trophy and it made the world of difference. He lost a little speed but the handling was so much better. Might be something he wants to try.

I did not thing that the 225 efi would turn 6000, limiter is at 5800 unless they have changed them....

    Re: Props (spider1)

sounds like your tempest has lost all of the cup. Your rpms are a little high, no bow lift and looses bit in the corners....

My brothers pro craft was a 1865lb hull. I would still have to try it.
