Rewire 2-wire tilt/trim???

I have a 92 40 HP Johnson that had tilt/trim and it had a blown power head...so I bought a 89 Evinrude and and switched out the tops...but it does not have a plug in for the tilt/trim....and the tilt/trim is a 2-wire system and I was wandering if I could re-wire this without going thru the engine and the relay switches...just put a toggle switch or something and hard wire it??? And if so, HOW??? The mechanic at the boat shop said it is a DC motor...

Any ideas???

Tilt trim should be a 3 wire system blue, red & green follow it from the relay assembly and you will see it.
