Swapping from Lowrance to Garmin and with all the transducer selection I am hoping to get a little help in making transducer selections. These will be on a 21' Skeeter 21I bass boat.
1042XSV Bow = ? Looking for Chirp, DV & SV would be nice.

1042XSV Console= In Hull ( GT8HW-IH or GT15M-IH )
DV / SV ( Clueless on this, too many )

Did you look at the GT52HW tm for the trolling motor? I have the GVC 10 black box so I believe the 52 would work on mine.

Thanks for the help, I am not versed at all about these and I reviewed the 50 & 51 as it shows those to be recommended , 52 as compatible. I believe that the 1042 unit maybe plug & play without the GVC box.
Do you have the units alread?
93sv chirp are $769 and come with the good 52 transducer and side scan.
1042 dont do much more and need the gvc box for side. Like four times the price
I've had the 1042 on for a few months now and you do not need the box for SideVu. It's a great unit. Love the dial for navigation and the four, one touch favorite buttons. Unless you are fishing over 500' the GT52 is what you need.

You can order the 1042 with or without a transducer. With a transducer, it ships with a CV52, which would provide all you need at the bow (CHIRP 2D, Side, and ClearVu).Originally Posted by Mobass4me
