Installing a recessed tray

Has anyone install one in a 1988 thru 1995 boat ? Sorry a Stratos 201 Pro
Was wondering if there is there any support beam or anything in the way ? Dont want to cut something ?

Try to make it as far forward as possible. I just installed one in my 2003 201 pxl. I left a 3 inch gap in between the front dash and my foot pedal and i still seemed to cut into the storage bin. If it was put another inch forward i would have never touched it.

I am not familiar with that year of boat, but i dont think you should have an issue. Maybe just some foam to get out of the way.

I put one for a minn kota in my 95 201 pro. No problem with support beams. The floor is really thick like three inches to get thru the foam and all. But your tray right up next to your dash to avoid your front box. Im me if you have any questions I'll try to help out

Richard I don't think there is much difference between a 95 and a 98 201 front deck. I cut mine with no problems..

I just cut a 5" or so exploratory hole in the middle of where the well would be.
Then I stuck my arm in there and felt around for wires, braces, etc. Then get a light and a mirror and look.
I had to hold a few wires out of the way is all. Stressfull making that first cut I know.

I cut one out in my 92 Javelin 389. The only problem I ran into is I ended up having to cut into my front storage area. I stress MEASURE TWICE....CUT ONCE!

I used painters blue tape to make my template, razor knife to pre cut the carpet for a nice clean cut. Remove the front console and feel underneath for wires.

Had one put in my 91 201 pro the front is 2" from the front of the deck closest to the dash the only issue I had was the front storage goes up at a angle towards the front of the boat so the drain had to go on the back side of the pan mounted as close to the bottom as i could get it but it works

I, installed one in my 91 295 with no problems at all........... Just a ton of foam
