Re: New to me Stratos need setup Help!!!!! (Leebob)

I run a 27P Predator prop(4 blade) on my Magnum 21 XL with two people,25 gallons of 93 octane, near tournament load and run 80.1 with more available. Hope that this gives you a reasonable target. Hydraulic JP puts prop shaft height at 2.5 inches or so.

I tried a Fury on my 03 201 and was not impressed. It was slower out of the hole and slower on top end than the Tempest. When the weather cools down I am going to try it again and see if I get better results

Re: New to me Stratos need setup Help!!!!! (crizzel)

I got her out this weekend and was a little disapointed with the results.

Everyone was saying upper 70's low 80's but with the 26 trophy, 2 guys, and all the gear i was getting 71mph at 6000 RPM's and 75mph by myself. I am a big boy around 300 lbs and the temperature was 92.

I tried a 27 pitch trophy but it was a dog out of the hole. Top end was about the same.

Any idea's what to try next or is this all the boat got????

You got major prop slip going on. And sure summer heat will sap some rpm out of a motor. Ditch the trophy, and find a 27 TXP, 28 Bravo, or a 28 Hydromotive X-OB. Im certain you will have good results with one of the 3 props, and even better results if its a fresh prop with crisp clean sharp edges and good tight cupping in the tips. The 2 most important things in all around performance/efficiency are a perfect prop and finding the sweet spot in motor height to compliment said prop and normal load carried.
