I will try to get a picture and send it to you. I don't understand what you mean by to high. Mine is down in the bilge and have not had a problem with it.
Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply.
Speak kindly. Leave the rest to God.
What type of transducer are you using? If it is a side image transducer you may have to get a Y cable and use a second transducer for when you are on plane.
I am not sure if you are talking about side imaging transducer or not. If you are, I just used angeled aluminum and sandwiched it together

I have the same issue with my sonar. The way the back pad sits up i can't find a spot to keep it in the water when i am on plain. I think i am going to use some L brackets to get the transducer where it needs to be off the bottom of the boat. I will let u know if it works.

I'd buy a shoot-thru hull transducer if they are available for your depthfinder unit. You simply epoxy the unit to the bottom of the boat in the bilge area (on the pad). I have had plenty of skimmer type tranducers break off from high speed use.
