    primer bulb

I have a 2008 E-TEC 150 HO, E150DHLSC, 05201946, why is it necessary for me to have to prime the bulb every morning, this was advice from the dealer, and bulb does feel to be soft and empty in the mornings, the guys i fish with say i should not have to do this, they never touch their bulb.

I do not own an E-TEC, but surely do not understand your fishing friends idea that you do not need to prime the fuel? Simply stated, the "primer bulb" is exactly that. It is intended to provide a "ready/constant" amount of fuel that allows you to start your motor without difficulty. I personally do not agree with their method or lack there of, but then again, out of respect: "Different strokes for different folks". As a disclaimer, my motor is a Mercury Pro XB 250 EFI, and perhaps the newer technology does not require priming? Then again, they would not include a primer bulb in the fuel system if not necessary. Interested in what others might say.

I have a primer bulb on my E-TEC HO and never have used it. I turn the key on for about 5 seconds then start it. Cranks everytime
