I have to make a decision..I would appreciate any input you care to share. I talked with Garmin tech(Josh) for a long time while on the water yesterday. His final word was either take my PS-21 back to where I bought it and purchase a PS-31 or they might consider sending a PS-21 replacement.

I totally isolated my PS-21 by using an independent battery for the power cable & had the transducer cable laying on the deck not close to "any" wires. I still have the screen clutter. I also had 2 ferrite(sp) chokes on both the power & transducer cables. For those that don't know, my PS-21 & PS-30 are on a transducer stick..The 2 videos are with the TM "not running"

Your PS21 video looks a lot like mine as far as the screen clutter/noise. It varies a lot depending on my Gain and Noise rejection settings. I dont think thats bad at all.

Your trolling motor interference and the rings from the other sonar were pretty bad, but I dont think a different PS21 will fix that.

Try the PS-30 video again.....On the 2 videos, Lowrance units were off, Don't have a DV/SV transducer & trolling motor was unplugged from power. Also, as others have said, you can't see my jig very well until it hits the 25' range.

Would you ask for a PS-21 replacement, or just try to live with it? I am still concerned as to why no one has brought this problem up using the PS-31.

Donnie I'm hoping to try the 31 this weekend on my boat. In my case if I recommend the 21 it's on me to satisfy my customers with the images they are getting. Considering the low % markup on these types of products I could quickly "loose my shirt" if this is a common issue.

I think the only way to check the jig showing up thing is to try both transducers - PS21 and PS31 - at the same exact time with the same exact jig on the same cast. You will need to be very careful with aiming though, or the results could be skewed because the jig is more centered on one than the other.

Im interested in seeing the results of a test like that too.

For me that isn't the only issue. I can't afford to spend hours helping a customer for free. When I sell a product I like to send behind it.

I got it fixed. I see nothing wrong with the first one PS21. I hope mine is that good.

I have tried all the gain and noise rejection choices...Auto Medium gain & Medium noise rejection worked the best for me.
