Stratos (XL or Elite)

Guys,

I would really like to get everyone's thoughts on the Stratos 2011 lineup and XL or Elite selection. Which one is the old Champion Hull?

The prices of Bass Boats seems to have gone up even when we have been in such a recession.

I am being pound foolish to consider the XL? Shoudl I spend the extra bucks for the Elite?

I really appreciate everyone's thoughts. Looking to nail down a boat this year.

I have owned a 2006 and a 2008 201 XL and think they are great boats. They handle well, the layout is great, the storage is fantastic, they are about even with the other top brand 21 foot boats in speed and they handle rough water well. With all that said, I have been thinking about down sizing some so I ordered a 202 Elite. I think they look nicer than the 201. The ride should be a little better. The top speed will be slower but it is also heavier.
The Elites are the old Champion hull.

Any thoughts on the price and value between the 201 and the 294?

The price points seem very different.

The 294 is a 19'6 boat with a 150hp as listed... $31,595.00

The 201 is a 20'9 boat with a 225hp as listed... $48,895.00

Just depends on what you're looking for in a boat. I'm sure if you look around for a leftover, demo or slightly used one you'll find a dealer or individual more than willing to play let's make a deal...

And the XL is the "original" Stratos design and the Elite is the "original" Champion design. Both great boats... Dan

Is the 150 on the 294 a change for 2011? I have never seen one with anything less than a 200 on the back.

The Elites are the Champions. They are not old hulls, but instead, the 3 most popular of the newer ones. I personally prefer the Elites since I have owned Champions for 21 years, but it is a matter of preference. Best bet would be to try any you are interested in and decide then. Best of luck!
