Just out of curiosity, you going to a 36v TM or running another house battery? I was looking at adding a house battery and a completely separate starting battery. I have the same boat.
One idea I had was to maybe move my charger and put the battery on that flat area where the charger is now. maybe sliding the other battery 90* would free up some room... A low profile charger would really make it a lot easier. You have the Dual Pro in there?
i have a 22 but i think the compartments are the same, I have 2 batteries on the port side and the main battery on the on the other side, i mounted the 4 th battery on the metal plate that has the pumps under, i bought a mounting bracket at an rv supply, i do have a low profile charger but there was plenty of room to add the 4 th battery. only thing wrong is i have to pull the battery to have access to the pumps. hope this helps, Troy
that would work too. I can't see how you'd ever really need quick access to that area. Even if you had your bilge pumps fail, you could throw an emergency one down in there w/ the little opening that's left in front of that flat thingy.
I am running 3 batteries now with a 36 volt trolling motor I would like to add the 4th to lesson the load on the cranking batt I fish a low hp lake by me and it drained that battery completely dead . I have A 45 amp three bank charger not sure brand name. Thanks for the info!
i have the same boat as you and put the 4th battery in 3 years ago and love it.like troy w i mounted on the plate in the middle if you want i can send you photos.I had one other problem and that was the added weight[80lbs]of the 4th battery and to get a great hole shot i had to change props,thanks john
Thanks for all the info I did place it in the middle on the flap but was wondering about flex,I kind of want to fab a metal hold down for it.

I added a 4th to my 200XL. Minn Kota 440D $379
Could one of you post a pic of the battery mounted, I just mounted the new charger a MK440D. The battery will be going over the flap access to the pumps, I'd imagine all the current factory wiring and the plug are all ok for the upgrade, am I correct?
I upgraded mine over the flap access and added the 440D, everything works great. Thanks everyone for the advice they have given throughout the years in this forum to help me do it the right way.
