loading on trailer ?

maybe you guys can help i bought a 2005 stratos 2 years ago and it is on a stratos trailer and since the day i bought it it loads crooked about 50% of the time. the trailer does not have adjustable bunks they are just lagged in. sometimes it loads dead center the first time other times i have to jack aroung for 5 minutes to get it on centered. and when it loads crooked it is always pushed against the fender on the drivers side of the boat never to the other side. any ideas???? also when it is crooked is it ok to trailer it like that? or should it be centered? when it's crooked the rib in the fiberglass on the underside of the boat that is supposed to slide inside the bunk is actually up on the center of the bunk. would that hurt anything if it got trailered like that?

Sounds like you are putting the trailer too deep when loading. Mine drives straight on and right up to the bow roller. Don't think it has ever had the back be off centered when I loaded.

i've tried it deeper and shallower and i still get it crooked about 50% of the time no matter how the trailer sits. and i can't have the trailer to far out of the water i only have a 115 opti on it and it won't drive it up to the front roller if it's to far out i have tried.

I have a stratos trailer also. I have loaded at different depths and mine sits crooked too, mostly leaning to the drivers side. I have tried everything I can think of. I plan to put new bunk boards on it this year and plan to "Adjust" them to help the way it sits. until then I have learned to just live with it I also thought about getting some of the nylon pieces to put on the bunks so I can be out of the water farther and crank it the rest of the way up.

By the way if yours sit crooked 50% of the time then I'm jelous mine sits crooked all of the time

By the way if yours sit crooked 50% of the time then I'm jelous mine sits crooked all of the time </td></tr></table>stratos, when yours is crooked is the rib on your pad sitting in the middle of the bunk? and i am assuming it is and it's ok to trailer then without hurting the bottom of the boat at all? and i'm sorry to hear it happens to you to , but i'm glad to hear mine is not the only one it happens to . i guess i'm gonna have to adjust the right bunk or something ..... i just wish the damn thing would load strait every monday after the tourneys i fish i watch 15 or 20 boats go right on thier trailers just like they should no problem and i'm sitting there jacking around with mine most of the time to get it on right

Like Russ said sounds like your to deep. Leave the top of the fenders just above water when you back it in.

i have 2008 294xl and it loads ok.
Like you said water level just about to the top of the fender.

The ribs on the bottom of my boat fit in between the bunks but they only have about a 1/2 in at most of clearence when its sitting right. the boat always seem to get on of the ribs on top of the bunk.
I'll hit the trailer then let it settle and I can tell its straight. I have powered on and just cranked it up with the winch, I usally get the same results although cranking it up it usally sits better but its a bi@#$ to crank it up that far.
I'm going to take it to work one day and lift it off with the crane and do some measuring on the trailor because something just isnt straight on it. I THINK

I had the same trouble with Javelin boat. I learned that if I would back the trailer all the way in the water and get as much of the bunks wet as I could, then pull out and leave about 3-4 inches of the fenders showing, the boat would load much eaiser. This was a dual axle trailer. Just a suggetion that you might try.

Only other suggestion I have is to make sure that the trailer is as level as possible. Lots of the ramps I use aren't and you have to kick it one way or the other to try to keep the same amount of the top of the fenders out of the water.

I have only had trouble if my trailer wasnt level, 1 side deeper than the other, but if I back off a little, it will come up straight

Not sure how your seats are but you may want to try sitting in the middle as you "glide" up on that trailer. Maybe with you sitting on starboard, it's leaning a little too much as you're "gliding" which would explain why your drivers side is always on the right.

You need a Boat Board step and handle. The handle gives you a dead center target to aim at when driving on.
