Stress Cracking on Stratos

Hey guys, I am looking to purchase a stratos boat and it has some stress cracking around the top of the hull. Is this a common problem? It is a 97 and the finish is in very good condition other than the stress cracks. The price seems right, do I have anything to worry about here, will it continue to get worse or is it probably at its worse at this point.

If you like Stratos boats get use to it. The stress cracks suck but it happens. Dosen't hurt a thing but the looks. For the cost its not worth fixing. If you can handle the looks buy it because it is common. If you fish rough waters it might get a little worse but is is totally asthetic. Great riding boats but that is the only drawback.

My 96 295pro xl has plenty of them they wont hurt a thing just cosmetic. I can deal with them cause I love the ride and speed it has. It is truely great.

i got a 02 21xl prostar,got 485 hours on it.95% of it is tournament,,not a stress mark on it,didn't know it was a issue??

Just about every Stratos I've been around has shown some type of stress scracking in the finish, typically the transom or top rail about middle forward. Mine has a couple minor ones on the transom.

I've got a few in my 98 201. Almost every bass boat that gets used will have a few. Just drive it like you stole it.

You mean "character marks"! Like others have stated, nothing to worry over structurally. Just annoying for some owners to look at all the time. Now as for me, my 06 285 doesn't have them yet, but then it'd be hard to tell since I rarely clean it!
