Check for 12V between purple wire (+12V) & black/tan wire (G) with key on.
If that checks ok, use a jumper to connect white/tan wire (S) to black/tan (G). The gauge needle should move all the way up. If that checks ok, turn key off & remove black/tan & white/tan wires.
Measure ohms between wires with engine trimmed all-the-way up & move sender through the range by hand. The resistance should vary from a high reading to a low reading smoothly with no open(s) during the sweeps.
