Look at the first 200 listed on the boats for sale page by Madbass. I've ridden in this boat and it's Cherry.May have 30 hrs on it.

I can also vouch for Steve's boat. You won't find many guys who are as particular about their boat as he is. That boat is pristine!

Heck....my '09 721 Phoenix is up for $32K. Good as new.

Personally, I'd stay away from this deal.

BUT....this is not the first time you have brought this boat up. You seem to really like it even though many other boats have been mentioned. YOU are the one that has to be happy with this deal, not us. If you like the boat, want the boat, are ok with the price, and will be keeping it a while....then get it. Don't let us talk you out of it.

You noticed! Yeah I do like it-who wouldn't?? Wait, that might start another thread...It is the age vs price that is causing me all the worry. At this point I plan on buying a baot and keeping it for the next 10 years. The only way that would change is if I got a screaming deal on a used boat that would hold me for a couple years and I could save some more $$ to lower payments. Thanks for the advice it is really appreciated.

+1...Like I said on your other post....I bought my 07 last year with 3 years left on motor warranty for A LOT less than that one....keep lookin...sounds like they dont want to deal on that boat...

sure you can find a used one cheaper, but... nice piece of mind owning a "brand new" boat..

This is just my opinion, it does not matter what you pay for it, as soon as you sign the paperwork, it is the value of a 2008 model boat! If you are in an accident on the way home with it, the insurance company is going to pay you based on a 2008 model. BTW, beautiful boat!

It depends with who you have insurance....I know State Farm, you agree on the value of the boat and pay for the rate for that insured amount...You divide it up for the motor, trailer, and boat...

The 200xl is an awesome boat, I believe is is the most versatile 20' boat around, awesome layout, great speeds and a great ride. It sounds priced high to me, I would let him set on it for a while. A dealership in Tennessee had a new 2010 201xle with a 225 pro xs for $39000.00 a few months back. Same dealer has 2010 294/200 mercs for $31k.

there is no way i would buy a 3 year old boat at the dealers invoce price. You will lose a crap load of $$ the min. you take it off the lot.

Re: Help with price/negotiation on 200XL (Team do work)

You have gotten to the point now that the dealer knows he has you hooked. You want that boat, and will end up buying it from him at that price and he knows it. Might as well go ahead and get it so you both can move on. I will say this though...there are dealers out there that will sell you a 2010 or 2011 boat at invoice. That isn't a GREAT deal.

They have the boat because of the colors for one thing. It is pretty, but there aren't many people that want a green boat with a red, white, and blue motor hanging on the back. I can tell you I like the picture of it. But, I wouldn't want it in my garage every day where I had to see it each time I opened the door.

Re: Help with price/negotiation on 200XL (Jason Phillips)

The boat is sweet, no doubt. The dealer is great - i know first hand as I bought my boat 201 from them. Their location is fantastic, you can drop the boat off and then go to the casino for the night (Mohegan or Foxwoods) and then pick up the boat in the a.m. on your way home.

You will find better deals all over the country, but how do you get the boat home. The shipping kills your savings, the gas prices (if you drive) kills your savings and then where do you service it if you buy a boat a thousand miles away?

You can buy a lot of gas for $10-12k... I would hope they would service your boat even if you didnt buy from them....but I think Jim has his heart set on this one though.....sweeet lookin ride!

No Fellas, he doesn't have me hooked and I do know he is reading this thread! I like the boat a lot and don't really care how it looks. If looks mattered, my wife would never have married me...I just can't work through the fact that it is a 2008 and he won't drop the price. In my mind it is time to move the boat at a discounted rate and look forward...esp w/ a few 08-09's in stock.
He has been real straightforward and pleasant to deal with, though, can't knock him at all. His dealership is the kind I can do business with.
