    Did anyone else notice...

theres 2 ASX's in the for sale forum. Craig you need to quit buying purses and snag one of them.

I would love to know what one would run with a Hydro tec Yam or a 300x on da back.

I saw those, both yellow if I recall. What hull is it tho ? How does it ride compared to a 201 ? How much faster are they ? They sure are pretty but I dont have 22 grand sitting around right now, wish I did.

They were only made in limited numbers for a short time. I guess some had problems and some were fine.

Re: Did anyone else notice... (oldhippie)

I had one and it was a fun boat to drive, it would do 80 fully loaded and livewells full all the time! I got mine up to 84 with a 250 Yamaha HPDI, I'm sure with Hydro Tec heads and exhaust it would go a little more. I think the factory had one up to 90 or 93?? Think that one had an Evinrude HO. They were made for speed only, and were terrible in rough water, the hull is too light. It would porpoise all the time if you were below 60mph, made me want to shoot a hole in the middle of the deck while looking for new fishing spots. It rides and drives NOTHING like a 200 or 201 ProXL. But it is an awesome speed machine!

Re: Did anyone else notice... (Fish-Ninja)

i did notice yesterday. Great looking boats and have always been a fan. The bottom of the boat looks like it flatens out rather quickly and I would suspent that this would contribute to the rough ride more then weight. As we know deisgn has more to do with it then weight.

I wonder if anyone tried Neg wedges on these hulls to combat the bounce? Also what did this hull weigh? Would a 280 have been a nice pair with this hull? Was it light enough for the 2.5 to carry the boat? If not I bet a 300x would be a bare to drive on this hull. If you could tame the beast I bet it would be one of those unique combos that would be cool to own

Re: Did anyone else notice... (Hydrilla)

Hydrilla im thinkin they were like a 1400 lb hull. Something like that, with a 7"-8" wide pad.

You are right about design vs weight. The xb21 is considered light for a 21ft boat and has one of the finest rough water rides there is.

Yes they do. But they are a lot heavier boat. But the 201 EVO is still a blast to drive. My dad bought one earlier this year and it's as good of a boat as I've ever been in.
