    294 prop selection?

This past winter i recently purchased a 2007 294 xl with a yam 200 hpdi on it. I love this boat. Last weekend i bent my shaft and the prop. The insurance is going to cover it but the dealer told me i have the option of getting my old prop fixed because its not bent bad, its the original 25p yam or taking $250 towards a new one. I was thinking of getting a 26p fury? What do you guys think?

Re: 294 prop selection? (Team do work)

I have a 2009 294 XLE and a 26 Fury on a 200 Etec HO and runs around 5900 rpms and will do between 74-76 depending on load. I don't think its a bad choice but some say a 27 tempest is better. I know one thing and the Fury has the best hole shot i've seen around. Either prop i'd say you will improve all around.

I liked the Fury on my old 294/merc combo. You wont have a problem turning it, and as already said, great holeshot on that hull.

Re: 294 prop selection? (Jason Phillips)

I have the same setup and my boat came with a 25m... I asked sometime back and was suggested that a 26m would work best... I am assuming since then the Fury has came out and that might be a littel better than the orignal 26m.

I still am using the 25m, with an excellent hole shot and stable ride right up to 5800rpms and 71 on the gps. I am good with that... no need to drop $300-500 on 2 to 5 mph.

what lake did you bend your drive shaft and prop at?

    Re: 294 prop selection? (JC25)

I was fishing the bfl at patoka and was only going about 8mph up the river and hit a stump. Those are about the same numbers im getting out of the boat, the fastest ive had it was 73. Im just going to keep the 25m on it for now so i dont have to spend anymore money.

I fished that as a co-angler, my boater went way up the river and hit a couple stumps during the event.
