200 PXL Porpoising at WOT. Can this be corrected by setup?

I have a 2010 200 PXL single console with a 2010 Merc 225 Pro XS. I am trying to get it set up and I am having a problem. The boat has a 10" manual jackplate, 27 tempest, motor 2 3/4" below the pad. At about 70, the boat starts to porpoise. It does this all the way to WOT. It is not really trying to chine walk. This movement is straight up and down (porpoising). Adjusting the trim does not seem knock it out. You almost have to get out of the throttle and slow down to get it to stop.

My last 200 did not do this and I can not figure out what is causing it. Is this a setup issue? I am still working on the setup but I am getting fairly close to some decent performance and I have now found this issue. Can anyone shed some light on this for me? What could be causing it and how do I stop it?

The engine is too high. Come down a quarter of an inch until it stops. You may also end up having to go down asize in prop pitch when you get the engine where you need it but I doubt it.

Tiny, choppy steering inputs will stop the porpoise. Some 200's do it and some 294's do it.

A 4 blade will knock it out also and if not you need to have the hull looked at for a rocker.

Thanks for the input guys. I will drop the engine and try to find a spot where the porpoising stops.

If this or a 4 blade does not solve the problem, who should I have look at the hull? And by the way, what is a "Rocker"?

Call Ranger and see who they suggest in your area about the hull.

OK. Thanks. Maybe Dennis is still floating around out there somewhere and I can get in touch with him.
