Does anybody know anything about these? There's one for sale not too far from me for about $8k, Evinrude 150. Looks pretty clean.

I am serious. And don't call me Shirley.
Good boats for the money. Cool thing is if you keep it up they never really depreciate. Have the compression checked on the engine.
Hi There
I've have a 93 285 Pro XL w/ 150 Evinrude. Not sure if there is a huge difference between those yrs. But I got it last year... and love it!It is in great shape for an older rig. Lots of storage, plenty of room to fish and gets me around just fine. I tourney and fun fish w/it and it's super for both. If its in good condition & motor checks out you won't be sorry! Hope we see some pics of a happy boat owner and his new rig soon. Good Luck!
I have had a 96 with a 175 rude or 13 years without any real problems. I have put a lot of work into it (because its a boat) Power steering helped a lot. I have had to replace all the gauges, new fuel lines, new gel-coat,carpet and the wife is doing the upholstery as we speak. Great riding boat, strong motor. It has never let me down. Good luck
Lord have mercy on the working man.
I have a 92' with 150 intruder
what kind/size of prop you guys running? and what are you getting for top speed?
I just put a 24 fury on mine 98 w/ 150 faststrike. I havent tried it yet but Im optimistic.
I've got a Raker on my 93 285pro XL. Not sure on what pitch, isn't stamped on the prop, came on the motor(97 Rude Ficht 150) when I bought the boat. I gps 56-57mph pretty consistently by myself w/ gear & 1/2 tank gas. Drops to 52-54 range when tourney loaded & partner in the boat. Its got a few dings and needs to get worked, which will get done this spring. Boat currently in storage...they don't too run well up here on the frozen h20!
Waiting for Spring & the thaw to come soon
The speeds I get are good for me "now" and gets me to where I need to go plenty fast. But I must admit motor envy does creep in sometimes. That's being a guy and owning a bass boat I guess!

I had a 1996 285 pro xl for 6 years and love it. Great boat to fish out of. he motor ly go at the end of last season and ended up sellng it. The price seems a high, when I bought mine 6 years age Ipaid 7k. I would check the transom and have the compression checked on the motor
2005 Stratos 285XL
Boats this size reach a minimum if kept up which is about 6500-8500 depending on accessories. Thats the great thing about them.
