Go by the local welding shop and have it welded to the bump stops......problem solved.

Re: winch post javelin trailer (Todd Morgan)

The problem is when I pull the boat on to the trailer the front of the boat rams in right in to it. So i usually have to lay back and hold the bar down as I winch up. So its almost like it is setting up to high. Im not running over it, im running into it.

You are backing in to deep then! I personally love that winch stand but the trailer needs to be sitting with the rear rollers about 4'' out of the water.

My trailer doesnt have rollers. I have pretty much tried every position. I have never been able to drive right on with out slammin into the bar. Could it be something else? Please help!!!

Hello, I came across your message while looking for a solution to the same problem.
What did you end up doing? I wanted to replace mine, but wasn't sure what type would work on my trailer- concerned my trailer was designed for use of this type of roller/crank assembly only. I have a 1999- 19 Renagade with double axle trailer.

Y'all, leave the trlr fender tops about 3" out of the water and kill the motor and let the boat glide on and winch it the rest of the way. I will agree the spring design isnt the best, but thats the best method I have found to load a boat on that kind of trlr.

I love love my Stratos trailer for the spring loaded roller. It seems to work easier then the normal ones. I always had a problem with my other boat sliding back after I stuck it to the roller. With the roller type I don't have that problem. Just don't back in to far and problem solved.

    Thanks for the response.
Do you still have a Javelin Trailer?
If so, how long is the spring on the bracket. Mine was missing when I bought the boat, so I bought one based on another person's recommendation.
